ingredients:
- 300g loose frozen mixed fruits of the forest, defrosted
- 3tbsp icing sugar
- 3tbsp Grand Marnier liqueur
- 12 amaretti biscuits
- 6tbsp berry compote
- 250g mascarpone cheese
- 50g caster sugar
- 300ml ready-made custard
- 3-4 tbsp advocaat liqueur
- ¼ tbsp vanilla extract
- In a bowl, mix the berries with the icing sugar and Grand Marnier and leave until required.
- Divide the amaretti biscuits between 6 glasses and top with 1tbsp of the compote then half of the mixed berries.
- Mix the mascarpone with the caster sugar and spoon over the berries then chill the trifles for 20 mins.
- Mix the custard, advocaat and vanilla together to create the eggnog.
- Remove the trifles from the fridge, add the remaining berries then top with the eggnog, finish with a few extra berries and serve.
